Social Housing Fundamentals for Local Authorities is a two-day training programme for staff of local authorities who are involved in the provision of housing services. Key Facts Social Housing Fundamentals for Local Authorities is a two-day training programme for staff of local authorities who are newly involved in the provision of housing services. Each day will be divided into two sessions. Day One will deal with the context for the work of Local Authorities in the housing area. Day Two will look at the regulatory environment and at the statutory basis for the work of Local Authorities - and the directions and guidance issues for the implementation of different services and operations. This course is offered as part of the National Housing Training & Development Programme.
Who Is It For? It is designed as an induction course for new staff and a refresher for those requiring an update on the fundamentals of social housing.
Course Content The course will cover the following topics: Session 1: Policy Context; Session 2: The Housing Market; Session 3: Housing Legislation; Session 4: Housing Services.
Evaluation Method(s) Complete Impact Assessment Test: To complete the course, participants will be given an Impact Assessment Test. This is an online multi-choice test to determine the assimilation of the course information. It normally takes place about two weeks after the course and can be undertaken a number of times if necessary.
