Housing Essentials Webinar, Session 1: Understanding Ireland’s Housing System

This webinar will provide a clear and practical introduction to Ireland’s housing policy
landscape. It is designed for anyone working in, or engaging with, the housing sector who wants
to better understand the key legislation, policies, strategies, organisations and delivery
structures shaping housing in Ireland today.

The session will explore how national housing legislation and policy is developed, the role of
Government, local authorities, approved housing bodies and other key stakeholders, and how
current policy priorities are linked to housing supply, affordability, social housing, homelessness
and sustainable communities.

By the end of the webinar, participants will have a stronger understanding of the policy context
in which housing services are planned and delivered, and how different parts of the system
work together to respond to Ireland’s housing needs.
